|Khun Dee Thai Food @ Batu Lanchang Penang|

Thai Restaurant in Penang Thai food is absolutely a favorite of the folks in Penang. Similar to the original Peranakan cuisine that focuses on herbs and spices in addition tangy flavor, Thai restaurants are hunted when people are looking for appetizing dishes. Bordering Thailand, northern states of Peninsular Malaysia have the geographical advantage to import Thai chefs, thus Thai food in Penang is pretty close to the authentic ones in the Land of Smiles.
Convenience and good reviews prompted us to walk into Khun De Restaurant for lunch. Luck was on our side, we managed to squeeze our truck into the last available parking lot right at its facade. Attap huts over bamboo/wooden tables and benches, these look interesting for a chat over meals in the evening or at night. Indoor dining area is air conditioned, set up is spacious, it is also clean, neat and tidy.
We opted for pork omelet, chicken green curry, deep fried kangkung (water spinach) to go with white steamed rice. And home-brew herbal tea and longan for drinks. Deep fried kangkung was perfect, to our liking and this dish is not common in a typical Chinese restaurant or "Chu Char". Minced pork omelet was okay and chicken green curry was delicious. To our surprise and delight, our lunch was wrapped up with a free flow ice-cream, on the house!!
On the left side if one is coming from Greenlane, after Lam Wah Ee Hospital before Jelutong Police station.
