We did search via a few hotel search engines e.g. Agoda, Booking, Orbitz, etc and in the end, we spotted a discounted rate on Expedia. Good rating led us to book straight for 3 nights and it was a fantastic stay. Despite we arrived late, after midnight, everything else was taken care of. No hassle at check-in, every details were well-explained. The room was ready for us as if they were welcoming a king and a queen! Contrary to the business outlook that portray the image of budget hotel Taipei, we never expected we were offered a comfortable, clean and pleasant suite with built in kitchenette that we practically can cook!
We were lucky to find Yomi - an absolute one of the best of all hotels in Taipei at the price below US$100 per night inclusive of luxurious selection of continental breakfast from warm porridge, fried rice, variety of dishes, fruits, buns to cereals and beverages that certainly last you until late afternoon. Aside from the typical facilities package in Asia hotels such as satellite TV, dryer and mini bar, Yomi Hotel also provides the free wired and wireless internet access. You may still do last minutes search for things to do in Taipei!
With the convenience of Shuanglian MRT Station almost at the door step, you may reach most of the Taipei Main Station and places of attraction includes Chiang Khai-shek Memorial, ShihLin Night Market and Danshui Old Shopping Street within minutes away from Yomi Hotel. If I were to visit Taiwan again, this best hotel of Taipei is certainly going to welcome a return happy customer!

If you're planning to roam on your own, print out major landmarks in traditional Chinese (Mandarin) or keep a name card of your hotel. These are useful to be shown to the local folks when you're lost. Most of them are friendly and very helpful including their policemen!
